Transcription
services are required for many situations: interviews, conferences,
focus groups, committee meetings and many more. We accept various
types of audio tape, as well as electronic format.
Formats
we can transcribe from include:
Standard
audio tape
Micro audio
tape
VHS video
tape
Electronic
files, including WAV, MP3, RealAudio, Windows Media Player, Quicktime
(other electronic formats are also accepted, please contact us
if yours is not in this list).
Benefits
of electronic files By using electronic
files, you can be anywhere in the world and have your transcription
needs met. In fact, if you are outside Australia, you'll benefit
as we can be transcribing during your nighttime, and you could have
your urgent transcription the next day.
We have broadband
internet access, so large files are not a problem. If they are too
large to email (3MB is often the file size limit for email accounts),
ftp access can be arranged.
If you're not
sure about how to get the audio from your tape onto the computer,
please let us know and we'll help you with it.
How would
you like that? We can provide
the finished transcription in a number of file formats including:
Microsoft
Word (DOC)
plain text
(TXT)
rich text
format (RTF)
PDF
Other formats
are available, please let us know if your preferred format is not
in this list.
The files can
be emailed, printed, posted, faxed, put on a floppy (PC or Mac)
or CD, or any combination of these.
Level of
detail Different types
of transcriptions need different levels of detail. For example,
transcriptions for the legal profession require every "um"
and "ah" and asides, whereas a conference or interview
transcript doesn't need these included. Our level of detail depends
on the needs of the client and are assessed individually for each
transcription.
Prices Transcription
costs are based on time rather than words. Note that it can take
anywhere from 3-6 hours to transcribe each hour of tape.
Our standard
rate is calculated $120 per one hour tape (to the nearest 10 minutes).
Very simple
or very complex transcriptions may require an individual quote.
